Why and when do we need to scale-out our databases to multiple servers, maybe worldwide? What are the challenges when expecting consistent transactions across nodes and shards sharing only the internet? How the proposed solutions are cloud-native, cloud-only or multi-cloud? Are they the solution for stateful microservices at the time of “serverless”? Is it transparent to our applications? Beyond all those buzzwords, we will go through the technical challenges, and demo one of them.
